Term 1 – started with me joining Gecko & the Guides. We commenced the Term with team building; elections; badgework planning & redress why we do Guides & what’s it’s all about.

Some of the Guides participated in the Camp at Glengarry, Sherwood Shenanigans which was terrific & run by some young Leaders. We had a Masterchef Mystery cook off; Trash & Treasure night; Alison-Zara’s Mum gave us a fantastic insight & learning into Cyber Security & the guides were very interactive with questions asked. Watersports & sand sculpting & races at Narrabeen Lake is always fun; nature trail around Narrabeen Lake & Roo’s Famous Mystery Night to Manly-except we got on the wrong bus which took us the long way around!! Less time at Roo’s favourite Yogurtland!!

Term 2 – Roo was away having a lovely holiday in Italy & Sicily & many of the Leaders & Mums helped, thank you. We took part in the Commonwealth Games badge & participated in lots of sports which involved Guides presenting skits, peoms, posters; a relaxed session; they made a carry bag made out of wool thanks to Rachel Wolfe’s skills; there was an environmental night & then we farewelled Natalya, Kayley & Mackenzie up to Rangers.

Term 3 – The Guides made recycled bag out of used plastic bags from Coles; Again we participated in the City to Surf, Rejectamenta where volunteers collect the thousands of items of clothing which get washed & donated to those in need; The Guides had a talent show & of course sensational Bingo, run by Q!! Great fun dressing up there. Guides had a Cultural cooking night; Great Guide Sleepover at the Zoo which is always fabulous & bussed it there!!We had Putt Putt for Fathers Day & visited Stony Range for a night spotlight walk observing the night creatures.

Term 4 – We tackled ‘Free Being Me’ for some of this term & learned that everyone is different & beautiful no matter what!! Gecko held a wonderful self-defence class & we had Hayley,Elizabeth visit us; Julie returned & provided a very relaxing Yoga night for Mums & Guides; Emu’s Wombat’s & Platypus ran some interesting Healthy Life nights with games, healthy drinks to try like cucumber, mint & mineral water; We had a Nature Walk from Westpac Ingelside right down to near Warriewood square & saw illegal campers along the way-ssshhh!! & we ended the Term with a fun & happy time at Waterworks with famiy ending with Carols at Seaside.

The Guides earned some badges, their year badge & had fun at the same time.

It’s a pleasure to have them all at Guides-they never cease to amaze me how they grow & learn & teach us too.
